It is the Maine's largest lake, with some 400 miles of shoreline and more than 80 islands.
It extends 40 miles and is as wide as 10 miles, with more than 80 islands. The lake's average depth is 55 feet, with a maximum of 256 feet.
It is called Moosehead and is in the Longfellow Mountains. It is the source of the Kennebec River.
