This is what is left of the Starrett homestead in the 1953 movie. It is where the family played by Van Heflin, Jean Arthur and the young Brandon deWilde took in a guest, played by Alan Ladd, who rode in from the prairie. It is located north of Jackson, Wyoming, just inside Grand Teton National Park.
The Teton Range is part of the Rocky Mountains. The tallest peak, seen here to the right of center, is Grand Teton, which shares its name with the national park around the range.
